Default H5 axle

What exactly does this mean? I have a 93 5.0 302 and I'm totally confused.
Can you tell what gear ratios I have from this, and what's the difference in the gear ratios? Sorry for so many (Stupid) questions but I'm a complete noob

H5 is exactly what you think, your gearing code. I'm not sure what 5 is personally, but I think the H means limited slip? I'm not sure about that either.

BUT! Gearing differences... the important stuff to know is, the lower the number, say, 2.73, will give you better mileage, but your get-up-and-go will suffer. If you have a code 19, which is 3.55 non limited slip, you'll have decent get up go, but not quite torque monster. Torque monster would be around 4.10 or higher.

Limited and non limited slip are just about if your diff locks and sends power to both tires on an axle, given one slips. Limited slip is locked, which always(?) Sends power to both. Non limited send power to both in 4x4, if one side slips and can't get traction.

If we could just find Sean, or Ymeski...

Info powerhouses is what they are.

My 3.55's seem to not let me go more 70, but I haven't had a long enough strip of road to test out max...

EDIT: unless the PO changed em, it was an old farm truck...

I'm not sure if she's up for the drive, ohioan here... I know a few roads, just haven't had the chance. I've got a decent take off speed though. May as well go check right now, 19 is 3.55. Driver's door jamb, closest to the bed. xD
