Default GT40P exhaust

Hey guys
I'm nearing the end of the rebuild of the engine in my truck. It's a 302, GT40P heads. Unfortunately, as many of you know, exhaust for these is impossible to find. Foolishly I didn't do any research into exhaust when I bought the heads, thinking a call to Summit would be all that I needed.
So now I have a new engine, mostly complete, installed in my truck with no obvious way to finish since I can't seem to locate headers or manifolds anywhere.
Should I find new heads? Does someone have a set of used exhaust they would be willing to sell? Are GT40P heads the random unsupported red headed step child of the head world? And can anyone give me some insight on the reason people say the springs need to be replaced? I've turned it over by hand probably 15 times on the stand.

I'm just going for a mild rebuild, it's going to be a daily driver. The truck is a 96 F150, standard cab 4WD 5 speed. Stock engine was a 302, new engine is a 302, Edlebrock intake, comp cam, cat back exhaus, stock y pipe.
Thanks for anyone's help

That is a good read. It seems like all of those parts are out of production. I spoke with a gentleman at the Summit help line and he even laughed when I said GT40P.

Still searching...

I've got gt40p heads on my Bronco. I still have the same shorty headers that were being used with the old e7 heads. These bad boys https://www.summitracing.com/parts/h...onco/year/1994. The issue with gt40p specifically is spark plug to header clearance. I had to cut down a cheap spark plug socket to get most of the plugs installed. Cylinder number 6 was the problem, I used a hammer to "reshape" the header a little bit, and still BARELY cleared using an Accell P526S (which is shorter than the stock plugs) with 90 degree plug wire boots.

Thanks for the info! I tried the headers that I used on my factory heads as well as the AFRs but there was just no way they were going to work. I started pounding the runners on the passenger side and when I looked at the driver's side I just couldn't see how to make it happen. If I would've known exhaust fitment would be like this I wouldn't have gotten these heads

Worst case scenario, you can probable make stock explorer manifolds work, they don't flow terribly. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/r...B#applications
