Drove the truck to and from work and only had one issue with the check engine light coming on when I first got on to the gas. The truck had no power so I pinned the gas to the floor the light went off and the truck ran great for the test if the day. Going to check the tps again.

I had the same problem with an 86 ranger and it turned out to be a bad computer. $100 from O'Rileys

Just tested the tps. I have the proper reference voltage and when I test from no throttle to wide open throttle. It started at .5 up to 3.97 and down to 1.04. I tested it a few times and got the same readings. Took the truck for a drive and it ran great.

Well in the way home today the truck died twice and would be up to 3000 rpm with my foot off the gas. This truck is making me nuts.

There is a large ground the negative battery cable provides where it attaches to the engine crossmember then to the bellhousing. Check those two.

Sounds very similar to what I said. Except there was
a little more.

It was raining this morning and the truck would not run right. I checked the ignition module and the dialectic grease was all dried up. I regreased the module and I found some vaccum hoses in bad shape. When I go to work Friday I will replace the hoses.

Well the new hoses are on and the truck is running alittle better. Now I think the front pump is going bad. It is making a ton of noise.
