Are there any companies that still make grille guards for our trucks? If so what brands, where to find them, and fitment notes? I'm looking for something for mine, preferably a frame mounted one, not a bolt to the bumper deal.

Can you folks with grille guards post some pictures of what you have on your trucks?

Here is mine. It bolts to the bumper and not the frame but its still pretty rigid. I still wouldn't like to hit a deer with it. I think I got it from LMC Trucks. The paint is starting to peel off so my plan is to rino paint it. I also have an issue here in Virginia where you can't have anything in front of the headlights, even skinny wires. So every year I pull up to the inspection station and unbolt the side headlight portions, run it through the inspection and then bolt the pieces back on when the inspector is done. Silly.

Mines just bolted to the bumper but it was very sturdy. I put it into a ditch and it folded the outsides of the bumper all up but the centre where it was bolted to was fine. Ended up welding it onto the new bumper.

You could make one to whatever size you want easy enough, I helped make one for a buddy back in high school. Traced the uprights shape out on cardboard then transferred the measurements onto autocad to cut it out with the computer controlled plasma cutter. Then just got whatever length tubing was needed to space them out correctly and welded them on. The headlight pieces would be tricky though.

 

If only I hadn't sold my computer controlled plasma cutter last week! Lol I suppose I could buy a used one, and use the uprights from that right? Though I suppose it would make the brackets a little trickier.

 

I'm sensing some sarcasm lol a local welding shop could cut it out cheap enough I'd think, the mounting brackets might have to be bent a bit to account for how much the bumper curves back.
