Money is just kinda tight, so I wasn't going to replace the cap and rotor because I got a new stock one installed just last summer (when money was REALLY tight). I was planning on just replacing the wires and ignition coil for now, even if that causes a premature failure of the cap and rotor.

Y not. They'll let you know when they've had enough. It'll buy you some time to save up. Just do a visual check once in a while.

Good stuff, but I still think the Supercoductors will save you money & headaches in the long run, because they last so darn long.

Not bad but, they are 1,000 ohms per foot vs. the Taylor or MSD wires at >50 ohms per foot!

Apparently you've never feasted your eyes on a set of Taylor ThunderVolt 8.2's.... if you compare them, they are identical to your MSD wires, save but .3" of insulation which would account for.... o.k. you got me, I can't think of anything, I'd say they're basically identical....
Practically identical? What is the price difference?

Just checked the Taylor T/B's out. There're knockin on the door of MSD's Superconductors real hard! I still think the MSD's will come out on top in longevity. Taylors- $67. MDS Supers-$72.

Spark pulse " going off the reservation" has alway's be the Achilles heel w/ my engine. Since I installed the Supers 3 yrs. ago, spark not making it from my coil to the plugs has never been an issue since, & a 60 K volt coil is looking hard for any ground diversion it can find! "Any port in the storm", so to speak!

I like to adjust my timing on the fly ,and have never been lit up once. Lit up many times w/ lesser wires. And when a 60k volt coil bites you, you're likely to forget where you live momentarily, even if your in your own driveway at the time!

"Knockin' on the door"? I'd say they kicked the door in! Other than the .3" of silicone on the outside, they use the same internals and same resistance. What did you find to be different? (Not to mention, I like saving $10 for the same product.... )

As far as longevity, I've only had mine for a few weeks but, I've replaced the plugs once already and getting the boots off and back on was a snap! I suspect they'll be the last set of plug wires I buy....

I thought about buying a 100ft spool of the MSD wire...and ends but the tool is still expensive for making up the wires...the MSD tool is still pretty expensive and its the only one to work correctly...
