Default On going fuel problems.

Hey guys I have a couple questions here. So in the past I have gone to start my 1995 4.9L. And the fuel pump hasn't primed when the Key turned. After jiggling both the fuel pump relay and the wires at the pump it would prime and start so the other day I checked the relay swapped it with the horn relay and back again to check both relays are working fine and they are. So I started looking at the pump and noticed my gass take was rusting out. So I replaced it with a tank with a pre installed pump. (19g behind rear axel). Now I turn my key and I hear it prime, I primed It a few times (with gas in the tank) to get pressure up but now it just turns over and over without ever starting? Dose anyone have any ideas? Would the fuel pump prime if the inertia switch has tripped?

I'm about to start looking at spark issues but iv never had them before and I didn't have any issues other than fuel pump a day ago when I tore it apart. I forgot to disconnect the battery when I did the work could that have done anything?

Thank for reading guys I'm stumped!

Did you replace the fuel filter when you did the tank job?

If the inertia switch was tripped the pump wouldn't get any power. Have you tried hooking up a fuel guage to read the actual pressure when you're trying to start it? If not, do that and also double check that you're getting spark.

See if the truck will start on the other tank. Than look to see if it has spark. Than pull codes.
