Default Gear oil

So i took my rear diff cover because it has no drain plug and i wanted to see what it looked like in there anyway. I didnt figure the oil would look good but at least it was still oil in stead of gunk. But it was green yellow and black. Still little greasy tho whats can i clean it out with. I have a gal of purple power degreaser i can wash it out with. Also wondering whatoil i should use. I read that 80w90 is what i should use. It has 3 55 gears and is limited slip. I know if i dont get the synthetic i need the friction additive. What is that called. And i do tow a little bit

Ahh, the wonderful smell of old *** nasty diff oil.

My garage smelled like that stuff for 2 weeks after I swapped out the diff oil in my old 93 F150 and pretty sure it hadn't been done in at least a decade or so.

use 80w90, and you still have to use limited slip additive whether you use conventional oil or synthetic. just buy a bottle they are just a few OZ's put the whole bottle in.
