Default Gauge problem

first off i have a 94 f150 with a 302 180xxx miles. second is the problem... both my oil temp and temp gauges both arent working although my temp gauge does every once in awhile but have no idea if its accurate at all. so im thinkin that the probability of both of the sending units goin out at the same time are pretty slim im thinkin along the lines of dirty contacts in the dash...can anybody give me some good direction here please

sounds like bad conection but is the oil gauge moving at all or is it stuck in the low and same with temp is it stuck in cold or do they move when you put the key on if so then the gauge is fine its the sending unit either not good conection to it or posibly damedged wire or bad sending units could be ironic but could be both sending units happened to go at the same time

Oil in front of oil filter, water on top of intake, it only has one wire, not to mistake the water sensor which has 2 wires.
