alright guys I installed efans in my a few days ago and the wiring harness I bought had a ignition wire that I had to run to my fuse box. well I had a 25 amp fuse I put in place of the 15 it had in there well today I was looking in the engine bay and I shut hood with my motor on and I heard the fans shut off. so I checked the fuses and the fuse was blown. so I stuck another 25 amp in it and turned the truck into the on position and it popped as soon as I turned it over so I tried it with out the wire hooked up to it and the same thing happened any ideas on why its blowing?? oh and the fuse position is 5std.
1: what else is hooked to that circuit you tapped into?
2: on my e-fan which is wired directly to a switch from the battery to the fan, the instructions called for like a 50amp toggle switch.

its my running lights, reverse lights,HO2 senser and I got the stage 2 kit from autozone it runs to my a/c and my thermostat oh and my running lights work without the fuse in?
Running a physical switch to run your efans is not wise. You'll constantly be watching the temp gauge and if you slip up, you'll overheat. Relays, relays, relays. Google relays and how they work.
If the fans are not hooked up, then they're not the problem. If the fuse didn't blow until the fans were hooked up, then you've possibly melted a contact. One of these deals that your gonna have to dig into though. But like I said on my other posts, you can't run the fans off of the fuse box. You need the controller and relays. The fuse box is only there, in the case of efans, to signal ignition power to the relay.
1: i turn it off running through mud/water pits,
2: I have a 4.9l and as long as the truck is moving forward it really doesnt need a fan at all,
I was just noting that my fan called for a 50amp switch, so a 25amp fuse might not be enough.
