It is for the brake pressure switch on the master cylinder. It tells the cruise control to kick off when you tap the brakes.

Ok so if I don't use cruise control it should be fine

Yup, just make sure that you have it unplugged. probably going to want to replace that switch anyway if it's leaking.

It's part of the electronics on the brake system I'm pretty sure if you truck will run with it unplugged that it will be safe to drive for the hour drive I'm not sure what all it controls on the system. You can call any ford dealer and they can let you know how safe it is to drive with it unplugged
