I am stumped. I have no power going to my number 10 fuse in my inside fuse box. There was the 4 amp fuse which is what there is suppose to be but that blew and all I had was a 15 amp so I threw it in there and now that fuse doesn't have power going to it. Every other fuse works except that one and now I don't have lights on for my gauges. It's a 96 if that matters

You fried the feed wire putting in a larger fuse. That's what proper sized fuses do, prevent melting wires.

Track the wire from the back of the box to it's destination and you should come across a burnt section, and if you are lucky it's just grounding out. Had a problem with my girlfriends caddy that it just kept blowing fuses-ended up being a faulty relay, don't think this applies here but a little 411 never hurt.

Do you know why the fuse blew in the first place?

You can get by with a 5 (that's what I have in mine) but anything higher and you've more than doubled the amount of current allowed to flow through those wires.

Yes I know why the fuse burnt up and I fixed that. When I twist my light switch to turn on the dome light the gauges still work. Can that wire still be burnt up with this happening?

So do the gauges work without your dome lights on? If not you may have some wires crossed. Why did the fuse burn up in the first place and are you sure that it's fixed correctly?

If the gauges work all of the time then yes the power wire is probably burnt, it sending no power will not effect the gauges function-just won't turn on your dash lights.

When I put in aftermarket gauges I just put it in the fuse and it must have blown it.
My actual gauges do work all of the time and they light up when I twist the light **** to turn on the light inside of the cab but when I pull the light switch out to turn on my headlights my gauges do not light up.
If the **** is twisted and pulled out they still come on.
