Default Fuel system problem

1995 F 150 with duel tanks. When running on the front tank the engine will want to die, I switch from front tank to back tank then right back to the front and it will run fine for a while. It may run good for a day or only for a few minutes. Need help.

Could be a few things but my first thought is it could be a failing tank selector switch. But it could be a failing fuel pump or a slew of other things. Measuring fuel pressure on both tanks would be a good place to start diagnosing the problem. If you get 35-45 psi then you can start to eliminate the pumps, fuel filter, and fuel pressure regulator as potential problems.
