Default fuel pump

i was wondering will a inline fuel pump pull past a intank fuel pump my 96 5.0 fuel pump has a short and i need to get it home.

But the pump doesn't have to be in the truck's tank to work... This one is in a plastic pretzel bottle (barely visible in the engine bay):

I used the same setup a few more times, but it's VERY dangerous. You should really call a tow truck. Check if your insurance covers it. It probably WON'T cover anything that happens as a result of cobbling together a fuel pump.

A tow is much better. Why create a hazzard for you and everyone on the road? Next time you renew your insurance get a tow ride. Less than five dollars every six months for th coverage. I have been towed home several times, never to a repair shop.

The safest thing to do here is call a tow truck. What Steve said would work but not worth the risks that go with it
