fuel problem
I have a 89 f150 with the 4.9 4x4 single cab. it just started to have a problem today. It stalled out on me at a red light and wouldnt start back up. I have replaced the fuel tank, sending unit, fuel pump on the frame rail, and the fuel pressure reg. its been running good and now started this problem. it will run until it gets to op temp and its stalls out. so if any of yall know what the problem is please help me out.
thanks john
and when i do get it started it will run for about 8 to 10 mins before it wasnt to idle ruff. and then it starts to misfire and then dies. could it be a relay or the brain box?

Have you hooked a fuel pressure gauge up to it when it is acting up? If you are getting good fuel pressure it might be a ignition control module on its was out, it has similar symptoms to a fuel pump beginning to fail. You can have the module tested at O'reillys for free, just make sure they test it a lot to make sure the module gets hot enough, lets us know what you figure out.
I would make sure fuel pressure is good prior to ripping out the distributer. The Haynes manual for our year truck has an excellent trouble shooting section for our distributors.

That's good.... you can at least check the module easy enough as long as the pip is good too. Mine has the module on the side of the dizzy(easy enough to get out) but the pip sensor require dizzy removal.
I'd be leaning towards fuel making sure its all there before ripping into ignition.

Ok i changed the module and same problem again. Started to tinker with it for 15-20 minutes trying to keep it running and we started to hear some thing odd. When it would die it made a odd noise and when we started it back up it made the same noise. Got under it and felt the fuel pumps rear one is good the front pump was over heating and shuting down. So i took it back and replaced it and its running strong now. So thanks to everyone with the help and if i have anymore problems i will post them up.
