Default Front tank does not work.

Hi, My front tank worked for a day when I picked this girl up. It had been sitting for almost three years prior to taking it home. ALSO front gauge does not work. I am not sure how to trouble shoot this... any help would be great!! Thanks.

The front pump primes the motor when I turn the ignition on, it will run for almost a minute, then stall.......... I wonder if it is the old fuel.

Now, it will idle on front tank, gauge still does not work. Going to try to treat fuel with Seafoam and a gas line antifreeze. Seems like the front pump is working harder than the rear......... filter??

does the gauge work on the rear tank? If it doesn't then the gauge is bad.. Could be just from sitting over the years or so.. There is a way to see if the gauge works by running a wire from the plug on top of the tank to see if it works but u have to unplug the plug from the tank to do it.. Let me look in the book to see.. I can't remember how its done off top of my head.. Could either be bad gauge or could have froze up and running that stuff in it might work.

Yes, the gauge on the rear works... I am not that concerned if the front gauge works or not.... more concerned with getting the fuel to the motor. Do the tanks have seperate filters?

No they don't have separate filters. If the gauge and pump do not work first thing is to check the wiring harness for breaks or shorts. If the harness is good and you have a good ground the electronics in the tank may be bad and need replaced.

no they do run off the same one.. Could be the fuel pump is getting ready to go out.. It will run off the front tank and off but with it just doing nothing but sitting like it has then the pump could be just about ready to let go.. They will do that over time if u don't at least run it or what ever instand of letting it just sit..

You guys are going to laugh your arsses off.

Fixed the problem, put some fuel in.

When I first got it I tried to fill the front tank and it overflowed so I assumed it was full and the guage was faulty. This morning I absentmondly put the nozzle in the front tank and put 20 bucks or something in....... I thought... weird, it should be full. Ran the tank to work on the front and like a whistle she ran. boy do I feel silly.
