What axle code for the front would tell me I have LS?
Well you could just lift the front with the hubs locked and see if both tires spin the same way

or find the serial number on the axle housing and go to the dana website.

http://www2.dana.com/expertforms/deabill.aspx

The axle code tells you what ratio you have, but i dont know if it will just tell you if the rear is LS or both.

Did these trucks even come with a LS up front?

yes some came, with a ls up front rare but they are out there,

itwill have a number "2" or a letter "B" behind the axle code on the door jam.

example: would be H9B = 3.55 ls front and rear.

Or you could crawl under and look at the front axle tag. If it says 3 55 it's an open carrier. If it says 3L55 it's a posi. Broncos also came with posi fronts.

Front is not LS. Now, I ordered the axle grease(Valvoline) online from Autozone with the in-store pickup option. I didn't notice until tonight that it has the words "limited slip" on the container. They gave me the wrong grease, it's not what I ordered. I should have paid more attention at the store, but the axle grease containers all look the same.

Question is, will the LS grease cause any problems in a non-LS diff?
Thanks!
