Default Front Coil Spring Replacement Please Help

PLEASE HELP!!! So back in the summer I ordered a pair of new front coils (Moog CC824) after reading how easy they were to swap out and would help level my truck (95 F150 XL - 2WD). Now that I have gotten to tear the front end apart I have ran into nothing but problems. Once installed, the bottom retainer doesn't make contact with the spring, did anyone else have this issue? Did I not actually get sent a 824 spring? the bottom coil doesn't appear to be as tight as stock.

Thanks!

It's fine - its really just there to make sure it doesn't slide off.

oh okay thanks, it just didnt look right and i didnt remember seeing a gap when I pulled the stock springs off. Is there supposed to be "play" around the plastic coil spring spacer underneath?

Secondly, Is there supposed to be "play" around the plastic coil spring isolators underneath? I almost feel like the coil spring hangs over the outsides a little too much (Perhaps just my paranoia that I'm doing it wrong) and also that the last coil isn't tight enough around the isolator.

Old_95, I know this is an older post for you but I have the same truck from your description and I am getting ready to install the same springs. On another post of mine someone said my spring seat was not original and that it was a lift spacer (I am not sure about that). Can you take a pic of your spring seat and measure the height? I would really appreciate it. Here is what mine looks like.

Clean those spacers (and the rest of the truck - it'll make it easier to maintain & repair). Originals usually have the application cast into them. Either "4x2" or "4x4".

But yours is VERY out-of-position.
