Question Where to get stock-ish exhaust for 1992 F150 302?

I am new to the forum (and to owning a truck) so please go easy... Just purchased a 1992 F150 with 170k miles, 302 motor, automatic tranny, 4x4, long bed, single cab. It's mostly in stock form which I intend to keep. Issue is that it's missing a muffler, catback, and a resonator. I'd like to get them installed, possibly along with a new catalytic converter. If I were to try to stick to stock sound, form, and function, which manufacturer's model parts should I be looking at? Appreciate the help!

I should add that I would prefer stainless since in Seattle it rains a lot and the truck would be used for short trips just as much as for long ones.

You got some options there. I'd hit up a junkyard personally. There is a possibility the cat is shot but you could buy one of those new, worse case.

That would be the easiest way to get all factory look and sound. Maybe hit up ebay?

Rockauto has a full kit, both are out of stock though. Could search that part number else where and see what you find. Would need to know your wheelbase for the right part number.

Other option would be to have an exhaust shop make an all new setup. Not gonna be stock looking or sound but you'll get your cat, resonator, and muffler back in there.

Thanks! This is helpful. How much do you think it would cost to rebuild an exhaust like you described in the last option?

Last option is probably gonna be the most expensive. Depends on the shop, materials, and truck condition.

The kit on rockauto is probably middle of the road cost wise. Though, you'll still need to buy a resonator and cat for that kit.

Junkyard will definitely be there cheapest. Try car-part.com, searches all junkyards online. Not sure they'll have exhaust listed for the obs Ford's but I could be wrong. You might be surprised by the conditions of some parts.

I would go for a good converter from a junk yard, if the price were right.I wouldn't waste my time on pipes and muffler from a junkyard. The pipes and muffler I would source from a local NAPA or a trusted parts store, you can see what is available from Rockauto. Take in consideration shipping charges, it may be more cost effective to buy locally. Exhaust work on these trucks is easy and I would do the work myself. That's just me.

Thanks! Do you need to weld when assembling the exhaust components on this truck?
