Default Front Bumper/Brush Bar question

My 1989 F150 used to have a winch (I think) and I'm deciding whether to get a new bumper or if possible, get something to fill the big hole. Any ideas on who made this bumper and if a grate or cover is available?

Winch, for sure.
Really nice cutout job on the bumper.
I wouldn't cover that up.
Maybe some nice stainless diamond mesh behind it to keep the rocks out of the rad.

Thanks, good idea. I didn't think it was a custom job. I'll need to get creative.

If possible could you maybe take a few pictures of how the winch would have been mounted up in the cut out? That looks like it would be a neat install and I would consider doing something similar over a winch bumper.

Thanks and if it's too much trouble no worries.

I took some closer-up photos for you. Hopefully this helps but if you want a different angle let me know.

Thanks again for getting those photos. If I do decide to get a power winch I think I will go this route oppose to a winch bummer.

It looks like they had the winch mounted right to that crossmember? Did they beef that up at all?

I have pulled the truck before off of the crossmember(was in a bind and have no tow points up front) and it did work just fine but I was a little worried about it.

Here's another thought for mounting things. This is a front hitch on a 95. Mounted to the brackets where the sway bar plate usually goes. Pretty good attachment point.
Never mind that thing at the top - that's my tow bar bracket.

That looks like a handy set up. I wouldn't mind something like that either.
