ill be goin to some when i get some money tryin to find bucket seats and a center console anyways when i get some money

I find it real interesting converting to a floor shift. While back in the mid to late 1930's the big thing was getting the shifter off of the floor and up on the column, thus freeing up floor space, while making shifting the gears a more suitable thing for the ladies. My favorite system of the time was the Bendix Vacuum Electric Shifter. In the Hudsons in was called the "Electric Hand" and it was used in the Cadillac, Cord, Lasalle, Terraplane, Auburn, and others. It was a system that used vacuum motors to move the gear shift and the valves where controlled by an set of 6 VDC solenoids which where controled from a "H" gate switch on the steering column.

I have been thinking about this too. But i want to know if you would have to take out the tranny. I found a shifter but i dont know what kind of transmission i have. The truck is a 95 f150 with a 351 4x4. Also is there a good looking floorshifter that will work?

Actually i forgot...i have the 340d transmission. Any floorshifters that will work for it?

My Dad had a Terraplane which was made by Hudson. It had this shifter. the car was mostly fun to drive. When you frist started out from neutral and shifted to the first gear, the first gear cog's where straight cut when the gear engaged the transmission rang the a bell. CLANG! sure startled people sitting next to you at the light. The mostly part came from the fact this 1935 Terraplane had mechanical brakes. The pedal feel was incredable, but they where a nightmare to adjust, they locked up real easy and once they locked up you where just along for the ride. I look at the Terraplane now and I think to myself how cool this car would be with a modern Mustang drive train and suspension.

Thiis is a 1935 Terraplane, but not the one my dad had.
