Default Floor board

Anyone have to replace their floor board? Did you weld or use sheet metal screws. Where did you get your parts from? I have a 87 and the driver side is rotted.

Hehehe - kind of the opposite of a sun roof.

Had this problem on the Jeep CJ - used some sections old HVAC ductwork and beat-to-fit, although it was thicker than the normal household level stuff.

I prefer screwing the new metal down. Welding would be nice, but I just don't have the knack - always burn through. A MIG/TIG might be just the ticket to get a nice job.

With screws, just have to watch where and what the screws will penetrate.

Street signs make nice floorboards too!
They are thick and were made to stand
being in the weather all-the-time!

Not around these parts!
They cement them in the ground!

Though some areas are using pressure treated 4x4 posts instead of
the metal, but they are still cemented in the ground. So the wrenches
are still necessary.
