Default Flareside Bed

Hey Guys,
This is a two part question. How hard is it to find a used Flareside bed, and, what was the last year they made the Flareside, for our generation of trucks. I am looking at a really nice shortbed, but it is not a Flareside. If I get the truck, I want to swap beds, IF I can find one. Thanks in advance.

Can't help you with the 2nd part of the question, but the first part answer may be that it will be a little difficult to find one. I believe there was another member looking for a flareside bed several months ago. Not sure how successful he was. I would suggest checking the local salvage yards. You could try searching the web for salvage yards in other states, if you were willing to travel a little to get your flareside.

I got rear ended in my flareside, and the insurance company totalled out my truck because, and I quote " It would take us months, if not years to find a bed for your truck"....at least one in decent shape....so I don't think you are gonna find one. I also went to a junkyard my friend owns, and he looked online at all the junkyards who share inventories, and not a single one had a flareside bed in stock from our generation.

Thanks for the replies. I figured that the beds would be few and far between, so I may keep looking for the right truck. I live in NJ and we still have some yards left that I can look in. Thanks again.
