Default Flagpole for bed?

This may just be the redneck in me talking, but has anybody thought about building a flagpole out of pvc that fits in the bed? Id just like something i can put in when im mudding or for special occasions to fly my Dont tread on me or my American flag. Any ideas?

Schedule 40 is quite brittle.

It might be easier with 1/2 or 3/4 galvanized. You know ... thread a pipe flange on the bottom. Fasten that to the floor of the bed with four screws. Then use a U - bolt to attach it to the top rail of the bed.

Fiberglass would be really nice for a pole because it can bend and flex like one of the old CB whip antennas but how would you mount it in ?

its pretty common for people to make mounts that go in your receiver hitch. also i dont see why you couldn't get a section of square pipe and put it in your post holes. have a threaded hole in it so you can just put a bolt through the hole in the post hole side and keep the mount in there. then have a round pipe with another threaded hole so you can clamp the flag pole in there.

(i just thought of the stake hole thing on the fly, iv never tried mounting a flag and would just go with the stinger idea if i did.)

Thanks, actually ive had them in my stake pockets in my bed before and wasn't a fan, i like the receiver hitch ideal alot. And the whole fiberglass thing would be pretty BA, i might just have to sit down and figure that one out, but ill definitely use galvanized instead of pvc
