Finally fixed
well, i was in the middle of replacing my o2 sensors (got two of them done) when i decided to take a break to put the blue leds in my gauge cluster that had just gotten here. so i get to taking that apart, and guess what? my fuel tank selector switch was not fully plugged in. I'm no pro mechanic but i believe that could be the main cause of my engine running issues (fuel starved and whatnot).... what a dumb but relieving solution. took it for a drive and the thing PULLS.

its a combination of being extremely happy and kicking myself haha. but it was some stroke of luck I decided to do those leds when I did! I wouldn't have seen that for a long while if I hadn't. the leds look great by the way. the symbols for the gauges, the km/h numbers and the needles all light up purple and the rest blue. didn't expect that but it looks sick. thanks to 24willyboy for the idea, it helped a lot more than you could imagine haha

194 bulbs are standard. 5 are needed for the cluster illumination, a bunch more for the indicator lights depending on how many you have.

^^^ what he said. theyre 194 blue led lights. theres a ton of brands of them on amazon. I did the 5 illumination lights and left my indicators alone. also two bulbs in the hvac control panel.

update--- it was doing great for a while, but yesterday, it out of nowhere just relapsed... BAD. like it felt like it was running out of gas and there was a horrible vibration that felt like it was coming from the dash(?!) when i touched the accelerator. eventually it died and i had to restart it while moving and limp it home. get home and check out the connection to the fuel tank selector switch. if you mess with it it does partly come out but even when i pushed it back in still acted the same. so this morning i pushed it in as hard as i could, took it for a drive and it was back to normal. WTF. with how it intermittently goes from normal to terrible it has got to be the wiring with that switch right? i checked voltage and one of the wires was only getting about 8v versus some of the others getting right around 12. if i just replace that connector i dont know if it'll fix the problem. plus, the only one of those connectors i could find online, amazon says it doesnt fix my truck but it looks like the right one.
