Default Fault Codes and Headlamp Assembly

Picked up my 96 Eddie Bauer F150 today

Got a few lil things wrong with it.

1) It is spitting out the following fault codes, what are they and what do I need to do to fix it??

P0443
P0135
P0141
P0155
P1131
P1151
P0136

Any ideas??

And I need a new Right Headlamp lights. I need a new Head Lamp, and both turn signals, almost the entire assembly...is this something I can source locally from Autozone??

Thanks!

Go to eBay and search for F150 1996 headlight and you will get plenty of choices.

As for the codes, you can always google F150 code P.... and you should get some things to click on that will help explain.

And/or you can go to Autozone, Advanced Auto and they can hook up and tell you what they mean.

They look mostly like 02 sensors going out.

How hard are these things to replace?? Any Special tools needed?

Thanks Ty!

So If I replace both Sensors in both banks, will that clear up the rest of my fault codes? What about the evap control purge code, what does that even mean? lol

I would recommend taking the truck to an emission repair shop. They can run a diagnostic on your truck and find out if there really is a problem. Some places will even give you a break on the diagnostic if you have them complete the repair(s).

Shortly after I bought my F150 last May, the check engine light came on. I googled the codes and they came back to the O2 sensors also. I took the truck to an emissions repair shop and for $79.95 I found out that there was nothing wrong. They reset the computer and the light has not come back on since. That was cheaper than the $ it would have cost to replace both the sensors. The sensors alone can run from $50 to $100 each. Then there is the labor charge. Even if you do it yourself, think of the time/blood/sweat/tears that it will take to finish the job.

from everything that I read while looking up these codes, they said that a dirty mass airflow sensor was the culprit to their problems. maybe try cleaning it with MAF cleaner (don't even think of using crab cleaner) and pull the negative battery cable for a few minutes, and have it rescanned.

You guys are so helpful!

Now I just need to get a repair manual and look up how exactly to clean the MAF If that doesn't work, I'll look around for a good emissions repair shop.

thanks again guys!
