F150 cutting out
1995 F150 351. Starts, idles, and runs fine. Punch the gas and it stalls or cuts out. New fuel filter, TPS, and coil. Fuel pressure on both tanks test fine. Any suggestion appreciated. Thanks
Yep, I had the same thing w TPS on my '95 5.8. Actually I had a hard-start condition which was TPS. One new BorgWarner TPS from O'Reilly fixed that until a few months later I got the symptoms you have, although I could push through it if I got the throttle out of that one range where it would want to buck and stall. At least the BW stuff has a lifetime warranty and they handed me a new one.
You shouldn't be MAF unless maybe a CA model, yes? Do you mean MAP?
As a long shot, you might also do cap & rotor. I had a cap & rotor cause an '87 302 to not re-start once warm. It'd start every morning, but never start a second time in a day unless it had sat for hours. No visible cracks in cap. Again, this is not really your problem and is definitely a long shot, but it's fairly inexpensive and easy to do. Still, a last resort, out-of-ideas kinda thing in your case.
edit: damn, I forgot I also had similar symptoms when the O2 sensor went bad on my '95 5.8. But you really should get a HEGO code for that......

Where did you get the defective one? More specifically, it wasn't a BW from O'Reilly was it??
It was from carquest and their brand. I've been on 2 forums trying to get help and at first I didn't think that the TPS was the problem. I decided to take your advice because I had try everthing else. You turned out to be right and I really appreciate it. I was almost ready to give up. Thanks again.
