Default Exhausts question

OK so right now on my 1990 f150 5.0 i have a custom exhaust: 1 cat taken off 1 hollowed out(so it looks legal), flowmaster original 40 si/do coming out the back at about 45 on each side. How big of a difference would it make both in sound and performance if i got some shorty headers, run that into true duals and then out the sides right in front of the rear tires? I guess i would just go without a muffler cause i dont feel like buying 2 more flows and imo glasspacks are just quieter straights.

glasspacks arent much quieter and give u the backpressure u need. if u do true duals true straight pipe with headers you will lose tons of power no questions asked. even with just glasspacks it might not have enough unless u run like 2" pipe. my vote is do what i did. i have probably the loudest setup that still has enough backpressure to run right. true duals with 2 glass packs no cats and stock manifolds. when i get around to it im doin out in front the rear tire with 4" tips but tight now its dumped over the rear axle

run 2.25" pipe with that and you should have all the power and as loud as possible remember to post vids of it too!

if you dont get long tubes, dont waste you money on shortys, they have little if any power gain, if you want shortys find a 5.0 foxbody stang and get the stock manifolds of that, they are pretty much the same as shortys

in actuality headers would prolly make u lose power since your letting so much air out already
