Default Exhaust problems

My buddy has a 1996 F150 ext. cab with a 5.8L and needs a new cat. The part stores are not coming up with the right one. It has an o2 sensor on each down pipe and one after the cat, there is also a resinator on it. Would like it if anyone knows where he can get a new pipe.

which pipe are you talking about? do you mean the whole Y-pipe assembly with the cats? the best advice i can give is to google it. i had to do the same for mine. look for ones with pictures and just compare those and write down the parts numbers. more often than not, if you get online on a parts store website, you can input just the parts number and see if they carry it. i'd try as many different stores as you can as well. i know for the most part, that if autozone doesnt carry something, oreilly will. just as an example.

Yes it is the Y pipe. Have been checking on line and no luck. Called a dealer today and they said the pipe is not made any more. They were able to locate one for $1800 though.

have a local exhaust shop cut off the old one. replace it with a aftermarket one. couple hundred bucks..

they are locating stock replacement ones.. very expensive..

just make sure yall don't fug up that downstream O2 sensor.. truck is obdII... it needs that cat.. but doesnt have to be stock..
