Default Exhaust options

On a '93 2wd 4.9L 6 is there a way to beef up the sound of the truck or are the 6 cylinders just not good for that?

Thanks again

My truck has a custom cat back exhaust that the previous owner had installed at a local muffler shop. Even though it is louder than a stock exhaust it still retains that smooth steady moan of an inline 6. My wife's father said it sounds like a really smooth diesel to him, none the less I like it.

Jegs or summit racing have their own exhaust systems dual or single set ups.
Or you can get a exhaust kit that comes with all the bends and hangers you need.

I guess that I need to hear some of these 300 6-cylinder exhausts that people rave about.

My recollections (from back when Reagan was in his 1st term) was that loud exhausts on the 300 makes it sound like a farm tractor?????

Well my farm tractor sounds like, well....a farm tractor, that might not be so good and I don't have any intentions of adding a backhoe to the truck.

I'm not looking to go nuts, just wanted to add some sound if possible. I do film production work and all my production stepvans are flat black and so now is the f150, she looks pretty mean that's why I was after the wider tires and a little snot in her voice. Thanks

I just put a Gibson system on mine. Word of advice, don't use Gibson on a Ford. Mine sounds very little better than stock, and I paid over $350 for it. I'm gonna go with a Cherry Bomb next. Just ordered them. Can't wait. I heard that you can't really get good sound with Cherry Bombs on the 300. I say give Flowmaster a try.

Not saying one can't make an inline 6 loud - it just sounds really bad, at least to my ear.
