Check the vacuum line to your fuel pressure regulator, mine was cracked, an the truck would backfire like that, I sort of miss it.

I ran a dynomax bullet muffler and a split tailpipe, exiting in front of the back wheel, with two 4.5" tips, like the Honda punks were running. It sounded good as long as you didn't have to drive anywhere far. Half an hour on the highway, and I d jam in earplugs, hard to argue that your pipes are legal, when the cop asks about your earplugs.

But I watched it save at least two kids lives, they heard it as they were about to run into the street, and I could roll by the management section of the parking lot, gun it, and set off car alarms.

I got a screaming deal on a 40 series flow master, so I put that on, the forces of fascism, aka the Bridgewater pd were on there **** awareness month campaign against, vital threats to law and order, tinted windows, loud pipes, and blue led windshield washers, and those evil evil evil underglow lights, all sure signs of terrorism, Mafia connection's.

greenmasheen,
DO NOT drill holes in the muffler...someone i know (wink wink) had stabbed his old muffler on a previous truck with a screwdriver and sounded like chit. almost sounded like a leaky exhaust manifold gasket. either hack that thing off or leave it until you get the scratch and pay for the real deal.

just my 2 cents
