Thinking about modifying my exhaust. Would like to a cherry bomb or straight pipe. has anyone done anything like this and does it sound good or just plain annoying let me know thanks.

Mine has no cats just a flowmaster 40. And mine is the 4.9l 300 inline 6. It sounds beastly. I tried glass packs and magnaflows but I settled on a flowmaster deep and mellow at idle and loud and mean at full throttle.

My 302 has a cherry bomb sticking out of the cat because the previous owner was too cheap for a real system. It actually sounds like a factory V8. Nothing special.

i hollowed my rear cat on my '95 302 and just dumped it under the cab. nice deep grumble at idle and sounded like it had some *****, but unfortunately my wife said i was waking our 2 babies up in the morning. so i just hollowed out the front cat as well and reconnected to stock muffler. now it's ... can i say ... boring. planning on putting a thrush turbo on it instead

thinking about cutting out my cats all together but i have a brand new high flow cat and replacement muffler from a 5.0 bronco i wrecked so i might put that on. would drilling holes in the muffler make it louder? ive heard of people doing it and not sure if it works. Thanks for your input.

I removed both cats in had a super turbo put on. Sounds good. The only prob is that it backfires between shifts if u are winding on it. Unburned gas I guess.....otherwise no probs.

Check with your local exhaust shops to see if they carry IMCO mufflers. They have street flow which is a magnaflow knock off or the street max which is a flow master knock off both sound good on 4.9's & V8's.

I have the street flow dual in/out no cats on my 5.8 with headers which sounds great. A friend at work had the street flow on a stock 4.9 & 5.0 with only the after cat remove which was a nice mellow tone.

They almost half the price of the originials so you can spend the money on nice tips
