Default Evaporator

Hi
My truck has spent 22 years in the Nevada desert and all the fine dust that goes with it. I am currently converting it to R134a and as part of this i would like to clean the outside of the evaporator fins, how hard is it to get access to this?. Any tips? I don't want to remove it just clean it.
Thanks

Not sure what year your truck is .. mines an 88 and its pretty easy.. the inboard panel comes off. There are little screws on the flange to come out, little spring clips in between the screws near to the bottom and a thru bolt on the top and. I think at the bottom inboard corner that goes thru to the cabin. Take it slow. No ripping and tearing and you should be ok....

If you take out the inner fender you can get to the box.
