Default engine swap

I am planning to swap my 302 with a 302HO, i am going to use the original upper & lower intake, throttle body, oil pan etc.,so i can keep the original wire harness. Other than swapping the proper injector connectors,(because the firing order is different from the 302to the 302HO) does anyone know of anything else i would have to do to keep the original harness & computer? Thanks for any info.

Yea the Ho firing order is 13726548. If you are going thru all this trouble why keep the original intake and such? Why not put a cam in your motor. That will net you more HP than switching to the HO motor.

I cant afford the down time for the truck & it is my daily driver, I work at an auto repair shop & i can do the swap in about a day & the original motor is still running (just tired), it is a good canidate for a rebuild, then i can take the time to rebuild it with the parts i choose to use and not be in a rush to get the truck back on the road. Also i can take the time to make sure the rebuild is done right & not waste time or most importantly MONEY.

My 92 f150 is a batch fire injectors. Meaning there are only 2 circuits for the injectors. It fires 1357 at the same time and 2468 at the same time. It is not like my Mustang which is sequential firing each in order it has a computer terminal for each injector. If yours is the same you should not have to switch injector plugs. If you can find a wiring diagram for your truck look how many injector terminals are going into the computer.

Did you swap the engine harness and computer with engine or did you adapt the engine to your harness and computer?
