Yes, it does idle high for some time. Choke sets in and it settles down a bit but still over 1000 rpm's, it really needs to get warmed up "15 to 20 miles before it stops doing it". No worries Flareside crazy, didn't think you were calling me one, just stating it for myself. Ha ha. What in the world is the IAC? Clutch slave cylinder "not clutch fork" another goober by yours truly.
