I called Jasper dealers. They will not sell to me unless I have them install. Power train products looks to be the front runner. $1,975 delivered. I found a used 302 with 120,000 miles for $800.

Powertrain seems good but how do you find a good shop to do the install. I wonder if they have recommended shop to use.
I'm looking to get one done soon and when I search a new engine install shops in Tampa general auto repair shops come up. I would think you want someone that specializes in engine installs.

Find an Owner / Operator mechanic. They will be able to get it done for you in a day. Not a major job, just a lot of loose ends to account for.

Don't go to a place where they advertise on tv, radio, flyers, or mailers.

You will know the shop when you find it.

CK Craigslist, too.

I would agree with a local shop vs a chain. I will be installing it myself.
