Default Engine Problem may need a SWAP

Just bought a 1988 Ford F150 Reg Cab 4x4 Automatic it hasn't run in 2 years according to the owner. Tried to turn the motor with the breaker bar and it won't budge, so it appears to be seized up.
Question what other motor will bolt right up to it without any mods to current setup mainly what years am I looking for other than the 1988 will any motor from 1980 to 1996 work or should I just be looking for just a 1988 302 v8?
Need your help here?

Any of them should bolt-up, but I'm not sure about the intake and firing order if you were to get a carbed engine. I'd suggest finding a 351w, same trans bolt pattern as the 302 and it's a better truck engine.

I'd stick with '87-'93 since they have the same firing order and are all fuel injected. Or drop in a 351.

I agree with ^

The two top holes on your transmission bell-housing and rear of the 5.0L engine measure 5 1/8" Center to Center.

4.9L, 5.0L, and 5.8L (351 Windsor) engines measure 5 1/8" Center to Center.

351M / 400M / 429 / 460ci engines have different rear bolt patterns (7 3/4” Center to Center)

So I should get a 87-83 302 v8 motor for my truck and make sure it was matted to an automatic transmission just like mine in order for everything to align up correctly. Would it matter if it came from a car instead of a truck.

It doesn't matter if the truck had a stick, the engine will still work. You would just change the flywheel.
