no need to...take a compression check to see which cylinder it is on....lets go from there
no sense in spending money to someone when you can figure this out yourself...

well i didnt do the compression test yet. but i took out cyl. 6 spark plug and it was black like it is burning oil. and is still wet. im going to do a compression test. yet. checekd oil and is still good. im guessing it is a valve guide leak.

smell it...is it oil or gas....

oil will be thick and tar like with chunk like particles...gas will be black but watery....

change the plu in that cylinder and see if it does it again...you may have a stuck injector....hope thats it..thats an easy fix...

if it does...unplug the injector to that cylinder and change the plug again...it is okay to use the old plugs for this test...no need to buy more...you did save the old ones right...? right...? no..?

well my mechanic siad he ran injector cleaner in the truck and it ran fine. then when he went to take it for a test drive it ran like crap again. so he thinks it either cabron build up or a bad valve. he did a compression test and it was at 140. he is giving me some stuff to run through the gas and if that dont work he say it is the valve.

I'd be doubtful on the valve....that wont foul the plug and keep 140psi on the compression....

I would unplug that injector and run it and see what it does...then what I would do is pull the valve cover and check that cylinder...I would roll the engine over by hand and check the movement of the valve...you might find a bent pushrod, broken valve spring...stuff like that...either of those wont let stuff in or out depending what cylinder it is on....

if that injector is stuck it may run ok with cleaner but flood with gas...killing the fuel to the cylinder wont hurt a thing...only turning it down will...lean is bad but no fuel wont hurt anything...

ALSO get a vacuum gauge and note what it does at idle...stay perfectly still??? or oscilate slow or fast....very spuratic movement...

thats what we need to know next....

well i was looking at my intake and seen that the #6 cyl had wet oil around it and all the other cyl didnt have any oil around them. i sparayed brake cleaner around gasket it didnt die but im guessing leak is on the bottom. but im guessing it is the intake gasket.
it sounds like a tin can when my truck is idleing and im by exhaust listening to it. i know that if the intake is bad that it would have like no power and i had went through 1/4 tank in like 30 miles

here is the deal, i was at a stop light and next to me was a newer body style s10 loaded down with a sofa and a bunch of chairs and stuff(back sagging) so i tried to race him. i took off slow then floored it and yeah the s10 passed me up. i had it floored in 1st,2nd, and 3rd. now power at all.
