I was on the Autozone website and they asked if I had an 8 cylindar H or an 8 cylindar R? What is the difference?

 

More than likely one is the 302/5.0 and the other is the 351W/5.8. Look at the 8th digit of your VIN to determine which letter matches your truck.

 

I will check the vin but both were classified as the 5.8L not the 5.0.

 

my 8th digit is an H.

 

Ok...weird...i checked the code in the LMC book and it states that the H is for the "LIGHTNING".

HUH....

 

My bad...R is the lightning and H is the 5.8L MFI...

What is MFI?

MFI = Multiport Fuel Injection
