I've dealt with this problem on a 95 Taurus that would not shift from park with the abs light on all the time. The problem was the brake switch on the pedal it had shorted out and toasted the switch and the connector. Slamming a door for some reason would cause the brake lights to work and then you could shift from park

Intermittent connection in a wire bundle connector near the door post?
Suggest pulling connectors apart and cleaning with electronic cleaner.
Left Illinois in 77, always wanted to hunt deer with a bow, never did. Went back to Chicago in 00 and 01 (Parents funerals) deer all over the place, on lift off from O'hara field deer at end of runway. Beautiful and amazing how close in to the population they are living. Probably protected by the forest preserves.

Many local airports have problems with deer on the runways. The problem is that you are not allowed to hunt on airport property, and the deer always seem to know where they are not being hunted. Every so often they will bring in some "professional" hunters to take a bunch of the deer.
