Default electric HELP! problem, interior lights, gauges and radio dont work

I have a 1991 xlt lariat and was installing a new cd player, it worked so i put it into the dash and something pops and the interior lights, gauges, and new cd player dont turn on. I checked the fuse, it was blown so i replaced it and it still doesnt work, what could it be? It also isnt all the bulbs either i checked them. Please help me have no clue what it is.

You never stated if you pulled it back out and checked to see where the pop occured. in my 90 XLT Lariat, when i installed my cd player i forgot to tape either the ground wire or the power wire and it popped. then it blew the fuse. changed the fuse but still nothing. after that i realized i didnt pull the cd player back out and fix where it was bare. so im just throwing that out there, check all the wires to make sure they arent bare and arent touching anything, my cd player blew two fuses btw. check all of the gauges too? hope this gives you any insight.

According to my diagrams, '87-'91 doesn't have an underhood fuse box.

some kind of auxilary im pretty sure. not 100% but i think it happpend at the same time because i never seen anything else not working. but i could be wrong and it might not have been in use. lol. waste of 75 cent if so. dang. but again, not positive, but i think the auxilary had some kinda wires connected to it. and definitely could use a re-taping. if none of that fixes it, im stumped

sorry only some vehs had a fuse under the hood.there is constant 12volt fuse and a switched fuse the one that is also for dome lights would be a constant fuse. if the radio still has a problem it should keep blowing the new fuse .but you should still pull it out and fix it.did you check all the fuses with the key on.
