1996 f150 5.0 v8 scan tool came up with an egr problem, checked egr n it was fine... noticed where the flex thing in the line is there was a crack... jb welded it but truck still running bad like it keeps bogging out... sucking too much air but don't know what to check... any help would b greatly appreciated...

 

If the scanner says EGR problem then it's not fine. Check the whole EGR system. The pipe really doesn't matter.

 

We checked the egr.. the diaphram is working properly.. how else do u check the egr??

 

There's more to the EGR system than just the valve. Start with basic vacuum and solenoid checks.
