Default egr codes.

I got some codes today on my truck. it is a 1994 f150xlt 2wd with a 5.0. i got a code 172 and a code 327. i know the code 172 means the egr is not switching so i have a lean exhaust in bank one and the 327 means the egr signal is too low. i was wondering if anyone could help me with the solution to this problem?

any imput is appriciated, thanks for your time,

Ben

There is no bank one or bank two codes for a '94. 172 means oxygen sensor indicates system always lean. 327 means EVP circuit below minimum voltage. Check the EGR for proper function, which it sounds like the EGR is working. Sounds like a problem with the EVP, like it isn't giving signals to the computer or the signal is too weak. The computer thinks the EGR is closed and is trying to open it more and more, which is making the oxygen sensor indicate lean because of the extra exhaust being introduced.

A disconnected oxygen sensor sure isn't helping things.
