Default EGR cleaning?

Can I try to clean the carbon out of my EGR valve on my truck? Its a 1995 with the 351w SD. Or do I just have to buy a new one reguardless. I got a code 334 and the voltage on the soleniod up top is fine.

Good idea to remove & clean on occasion anyway. Inspect diaphragm for leakage at the same time. Check mounting portway's on the intake also.

Break the large nut at the bottom loose first before removing mounting bolts. Gasket may or may not require replacement.

The problem's not on it. It's in it & at the entrance of. Seafoam's kind of expensive, where carb cleaner would do.
