Default EGR Block-off Help

My EGR tube is broken and I had it semi-fixed using a piece of hose from my SMOG system (you can see that thread herehttps://www.f150forum.com/f10/broken-egr-tube-86937/). Well the hose got too hot and broke. I'm gonna block the ends of the EGR off for now (until I get the money to buy a new tube). What do I need to block off? I'm getting a pipe cap and pipe plug for the fitting on the intake-manifold and the bottom of the solenoid. Do I need to block-off where the solenoid hooks to the upper-intake too? Thanks.

There's no pictures in that thread. WTF?

You can't use copper pipe and compression fittings? Should be fairly cheap. Just buying the crap to cap it off might be more expensive than fixing it my way, if it will work.

I never thought about it. With the price of buying a new one, I'll get a new one when I start working this summer (graduating HS, and can't find a job while in school). My theory was that my step-dad could get the caps from work. I wound up having to use brass caps. It'll be fixed tomorrow when I get the last cap on.

I think most anything you will use for it will be brass. Other than galvanized pipe I'm not sure if there's anything else with NPT threads.

I got her fixed a lil bit ago. Runs better, sounds 1000% better. No CEL either. Now to see how my mileage is affected...
