Default Egine replacement

I have two questions.
1- Where is a good cheep place to buy a replacement engine for my truck. Its a 95 F150 5.0.

2 - Can going with a carburetor engine get good gas mileage. (My truck now only gets 13). I have heard good things about carburetors getting good gas mileage.

Would it be hard to convert my truck over to carburetor.

1) either an Auto parts place... the cheaper the chances you'll get a just slapped together engine of unknown quality... Look around and check local auto parts stores...

2) stay with fuel injection... it would cost a lot less to put a super tune on it and get great mileage than it would to convert to carb which may do less yet

Depends where you want to buy it and what you want to spend, and stay with efi, but the best mileage I ever got was with a carb, you will spend anywhere between 400-800 to do the carb with new parts, the only thing with fuel injection is it is limited as to what can be done compared to carb.

yep and if you have an automatic trans forget about going carb.... the ECM controls the trans.. so deletion of the Fuel Injections means trans wont shift...
