Default Edelbrock Intake?

Is the Edelbrock Preformer Intake worth the $600? Just kinda wondering because if theres not much of a HP Gain then ill drop the $600 in the truck else where.

Six hundred bucks? Ouch. Aren't you the one wanting to switch to carbureted? Is that a carbureted intake?

If we are talking about the FI'd intake then I'd say, by itself, No. No point in putting a high performance intake on only to leave the very restrictive throttle body and air intake or the very, very restrictive exhaust. I'd dump the $600 on a K&N INTAKE not just the filter, BBK throttle body and at a minimum cat back exhaust and shorty headers. You'll see a bigger gain doing that stuff than you would by replacing the stock intake.

If we are talking about a carberated intake, you should shop elsewhere, that price is crazy high....

I would spend the 600 on full headers and a custom exhaust. Biggest gains available, then you could play with other things. Oh yes and dont forget o2 sensors to make it legal.

Yeah, IMHO, I think doing the TB and ignition is the way to go. I prefer Mallory myself but, many others like MSD, I've just never had any luck with their products, and hey, Mallory has been designing ignition systems for Ford since the very first Ford so I figure they know what they are doing...
