jw but wat does the ecm relay do and does it have anything to do with the dashboard lights in the cab or the fuel system

 

Relays are used when a regular switch would just burn up because of the high voltage going through it. The ECM relay has nothing to do with the dash lights but it does power the fuel pump relay as well as the ECM.

 

i looked at the relay and it was about to corrod away so I'll have to pick up some connectors tommorow and replace them
