Thought I had taken batt. off-line but the cable had fallen and was barely touching the post. Hence my surprise at the spark. Now truck will only start in neutral, still shifts hard and temp guage inop. Will no longer pull codes either. Wiring diagram shows everything on grey-red circuit inop. Any thoughts. ECM is F1TF-AMA. Very hard to find, can another ecm be used?

Is this your set up?

What were the exact codes originally?

No codes now during Key on/ Engine off?
No codes now during Key on/ Engine on?
No codes Both?

What is "everything" on Grey/Red circuit?

Not the same. Mine has hash mark to line up for neutral, no holes for bit, wires extend from top of sensor. Grey / red=temp sensor, Map, E4OD, it shows to be #46 (signal return)on harness.

No codes now during Key on/ Engine off test?

OR

No codes now during Key on/ Engine on test?

OR

No codes during either test?

Electronic pressure control solenoid circuit fault code(s) is a shift solenoid. Not the MLPS.

Those affected circuits mentioned aren't on the same power feed. Or are they? Remove some of the connectors & w/ key on, check for voltage going to ground from their harnesses. Looking for 5v.

Unsure about power feed, not the best at reading wiring diagrams. Was told by retired Ford trans. mech.,that the first thing to do is replace original MLPS, they are a source of multiple problems in early E4OD's.

Not sure why unless no start in park/neutral or start's in gear. The shift solenoid however, is part of engine/ shift synchronicity.

That was the symptom before, of after you worked on the MLPS?
