i truly do not know what re-pinning is, and there is electrical work where the battery needs to be connected. for all i know re-pinning involves testing which wire is getting power and which is not and then changing something. i was honestly asking what it was that he was doing. NOT calling him an idiot.
So this is the guy we pin this mess of a thread on? Hardly seems fair. Let's blame someone w/ more posts!

Sorry fellas, finally had a weekend off, spent with my wife and kids, instead of under the hood of this &%$#@ truck. F150,1991, 4.9L, FI,with an E4OD. tran..Changed out MLPS due to hard shifts and error codes. New part required removing pins from connector and re-inserting them in the new. Thought I had taken batt. off-line but the cable had fallen and was barely touching the post. Hence my surprise at the spark. Now truck will only start in neutral, still shifts hard and temp guage inop. Will no longer pull codes either. Wiring diagram shows everything on grey-red circuit inop. Any thoughts. ECM is F1TF-AMA. Very hard to find, can another ecm be used?

I thought something like that might have happened with the battery. Did you say you checked fuses and relays too?

All fuses ok,relay runs more than just things that aren't working now, I think. The fact that it still runs ok gives me hope about ecm. Fuseable links look ok. Grey /red circuitmain one affected.
