Default E4OD to 5 speed question

Hey everyone, just bought my buddy's smashed up truck for a 4x4 swap but it has a 5 speed in it compared to my e4od.

So my question since the e4od is electronically controlled will the motor run right with the 5 speed. I tried searching and some people said to swap the computer from the manual truck and some said it wasn't necessary.

Any knowledge on this would help.

The only reason to swap the computers is so you wont get the transmission codes, but if you can ignore them its fine.

I've heard both also. Some say you will just get transmission codes some say the truck won't run.

Might run, just not properly cause the engine has to act differently with a automatic.

if you have access to the 5speeds computer, what's the harm in dropping it in?
